Lynxio
Trust & safety

Clear rules, applied to every search.

Lynxio shows what is public about an email, a phone number or a username. That information can protect people, or hurt them. Here is what you can do with Lynxio, what you cannot, and how we protect the people being searched.

You may use Lynxio for

  • Searching yourself, to see what is public about you and fix it
  • Searching someone who gave you their explicit written consent
  • Professional work with a legal basis: journalism, security research, fraud investigation, legal proceedings. For an organisation, under a Lynxio Pro contract

Never use Lynxio for

  • Stalking, harassing or monitoring anyone, including a partner, an ex or a family member
  • Locating, following or visiting a person, their home or their workplace without consent
  • Screening for a job, a rental, credit or insurance. Lynxio is not a consumer reporting agency
  • Identifying an unknown person from their face
  • Extracting, publishing or reusing leaked data, or using it to access someone's account
  • Inferring health, religion, politics, sexuality, ethnic origin or criminal record

You are responsible for following the laws where you are and where the person you search lives. The Terms of Service are the full reference.

How we protect people

Public and lawful sources only

We aggregate publicly available sources and breach-exposure services. We never access private systems.

Breach data is always masked

Passwords, emails, phone numbers, names, addresses and bank details from breaches are never shown in full and never stored.

No facial recognition

Lynxio does not recognise faces and does not create or store any biometric data.

Daily limits on every plan

Each account has a daily number of searches, which prevents mass collection.

Accounts closed for misuse

Any account used against these rules can be closed without notice or refund. We cooperate with authorities when the law requires it.

Scores describe exposure, not people

A score says how exposed an identifier is. It never judges a person's character or trustworthiness.

Ask for removal

If your information appeared in Lynxio results and you want it removed, write to us. We review every request within 30 days and act within our technical capabilities.

Judges, prosecutors, law-enforcement officers and other people protected by judicial-security laws (such as New Jersey's Daniel's Law) can ask us to stop showing their home address and unpublished phone number. We act on these requests promptly.

Both go to support@lynxio.io. Tell us the email, phone number or username concerned.
